Jute lamination & lining

Natural jute is highly porous. Lamination transforms it into a structured, wipe-clean material suitable for retail and grocery use.

Lamination typeTraitsLimitations
Unlaminated (Natural)Fully biodegradable, breathable, softSheds fibers, cannot hold wet items, loses shape
Food-Grade LDPE LaminationWaterproof interior, stiff stands upright, wipeableReduces biodegradability, shiny inside
Starch/Bio-based LaminationMaintains stiffness, fully compostableHigher cost, shorter shelf life in extreme humidity

Handle strength & attachment protocol

Jute bags are often used for heavy loads like groceries or wine. We engineer handle attachments to prevent tear-out under dynamic weight.

Edge binding & finishing

Coarse jute fibers are prone to fraying. We apply dedicated edge-binding techniques to seal the material and improve long-term structure.

TechniqueVisualDurability
Self-Material TurnSeamless exterior, rustic lookGood, but can be bulky at corners
Cotton Tape BindingClean contrast line around edgesExcellent, prevents fraying of coarse jute threads
Overlock InsideHidden interior seams (unlaminated bags)Standard, requires tight stitching to hold loose fibers

Materials & fabrics

Material choice drives performance, durability, finishing, and target price point.

Manufacturing & QC process
1
Material Grading
Select jute weave density (e.g., 14x15) and decide on lamination.
2
Cutting & Lamination
Laminate the rolls (if required) to prevent fraying, then die-cut panels.
3
Screen Printing
Apply thick ink through coarse mesh to ensure the logo shows clearly on the rough surface.
4
Sewing & Binding
Assemble panels using heavy-gauge needles and bind external edges with cotton tape.
5
QC & Packing
Inspect handle attachments and pack with silica gel to prevent moisture buildup in transit.
Quality & testing
• Handle pull tests (15kg+)
• Print adhesion on rough surface
• AQL final inspection

Frequently asked questions
Q: Is the print quality good on jute?
A: Jute is coarse, so fine details and small text may break up. We recommend bold, solid logos. For fine details, consider 'Juco' (jute-cotton blend).
Q: Does the bag shed fibers?
A: Unlaminated jute naturally sheds. If this is a concern, we strongly recommend interior lamination, which locks the fibers in place.
